Gosh. Thanks for reading and responding, y'all. Recently I've had my face stuck in a computer monitor for hours on end; I go through periods where my only income is sitting at a computer, and during those periods it's hard not to feel lonely. I have Cabaret rehearsals nearly every night, but days, and wee hours, are just me, working on my buddy Ward's upcoming site (due next week!!) and what seems like a million other little things. So I appreciate knowing that there are a few other people out there gazing into their computer screens.
So why, do you ask, are you spending more time in front of a screen to write a post in this journal, Matt? Or is it just me, asking that? Well, you're certainly right, and I should go outside, because I have to admit, it's lovely in Charleston today. It is actually close to being Spring-like here in the Holy City, and that's a rarity (usually Winter mistakenly hands the Seasonal Torch to Summer, leaving Spring dejected and hurt). So I should be frolicking or something.
I was just thinking that I don't like the name of this journal. I want something clever and catchy. "Matt About Life" is lame, and just something I wrote down when I signed up for this blogging business. I think that there could be plenty of cliched plays on the word "Matt" that I could use, but I am coming up blank.
Any ideas?

“Prolific Exhale” How’s that for a spiffy blog name? I always thought their was something physically life-giving to breathing and I think the same principle goes for living emotionally and intellectually–inhaling is taking everything around you in, then you process it and exhale–blogs, songs, poems are all like exhaling.
No worries, my blog is called “Hope.”

Personally, I kinda like the “Matt about Life”. It’s catchy. But you’re right, there are probably several other plays on words you could use. “Heart of the Matt-er”, “Matt Chat”, or something truly lame like “Door-Matt”.
The exhale idea above is kind of a cool thought, but it seemed like you wanted to use something with your name.

Where did I read “Life After the Machine”? I liked that. Otherwise maybe “Stark Raving Matt”?
That’s all I got.

Maybe it’s just because it’s the way I feel today, but, damnit Linz, you win. In less than a day. The blog is subtitled “life after the machine”, but i don’t know where you can find it on the damn thing. “Stark Raving Matt” it is.

i enjoy reading the blogs of people i know because… well… frankly since leaving chas i don’t have much of a social life. not like the kind i left behind, anyway. silly history major i am, i end up sitting in front of a computer screen all day, too, researching the whitechapel district, sally hemmings, and prostitution of 19th century france (!). so while i’m here i might as well see what my buddies are up to and give my two cents. and since you’re an entertaining writer, all the better.
“stark raving matt” is brilliance. nice, lindsay!

*bows* glad I could be of service.

I spend a good 10 hours a day gazing at a computer screen. Some of that time is spent working in a database, though a lot more of it is spent daydreaming about where else in the country I could be, doing something more exciting. ‘Tis the life of a working stiff. Sometimes it’s hard to swallow. But at least I have great blogs to read. I’m glad you’re writing!
Oh, and having the season go from winter directly to summer is definitely better than winter going to winter going to winter going to mud season going to some sort of fake summer and back to winter again. I’d kill for some sun and warmth right now!

I just realized you had this thing. I like the name change. Cute. I think everyone’s had a little “end-of-a-career blues” for you. I still intend to keep track of you guys. I mean, you took over my musical life, didn’t you? Hope that warm fuzzy’s keeping you company a little.

I was reading this and thinking here in front of my own computer screen while the winds of April blow warmly between a multitude of flowering trees and bright green buds outside of my window. “What’s in a name,” coined by Shakespeare (Romeo & Juliet, Act II Scene 2) made me wonder if he too (once upon a time writing at a desk instead of enjoying the lure of blooming red-buds) had penned “Stark Raving Mad,” your pun here. I flipped through where I thought it would be (The Comedy of Errors Act II, Scene 1) but I was rebuffed to only find “stark mad” (as contrasted with cuckold mad… you could be “Cuckold Raving Matt”). yeah, okay-dorky comment, but I had to share what your post led me to. Back to my own…
click click click (echoed with springy chirp chirp chirp through the screen)

I was reading this because I have been writing a fuckin term paper at this late hour and needed to distract myself from my cause. However, I do like knowing that when wasting time, I am also hearin the clicks and grunts. We all need to write shit sometimes to share what we’ve gone through in a day, whether someone responds or not. I think one day last month I even blogged “Yeah…I’m tired…a nap sounds good” Just felt good saying it. So keep sharin and we’ll keep readin and responding…now what do I do to waste time?
